From why the voice of the downstream industry carries so little weight in the EU to our position on the EU’s Green Deal and the ensuing Carbon Border Adjustment Measure (CBAM), Steel News interviewed EURANIMI executive board member Christophe Lagrange on  the key issues  affecting (stainless) steel importers and their customers in the downstream metal processing industry in Europe.

“It’s a fact, in the interest of the next generations, that we all have to do something […], but we have to be clear about the fact that environmental protection and sustainability cost money. The system is still trying to combine environmental protection, financial revenues, and fiscal equalisation […]. We believe that the EU, with all its possibilities, should lead the way. But we shouldn’t build a questionable, complicated, and complex system,” says Christophe Lagrange.
